Parent’s day





Did you even know that there was a parent’s day event celebrated globally every year on the first of June?
If you blurted out a ‘No’ within a split second, I won’t blame you and if it is a ‘Yes’, your numbers are, few far and wide.

Now globally, this event is celebrated to honor the sacrifices that most parents make for their children & also for being an able captain or co-captains to make sure that their children learn how to swim through stormy seas.

And who had started all of this? the United Nations in a 2012 General Assembly.


The role of parents is taken for granted by most children and that's why some parents are ignored, abandoned, or mistreated. It is a selfless deed undertaken by parents and they don't think of it as a mere responsibility. They open their world to welcome their children.

Parents try to correct their children for all wrongdoings and ensure that they are treated as a hero when they achieve something.

This is because children are the best mimicry artists and parents have to be cautious with their behavior in front of their child and also with their child. Children do take something out of their upbringing subconsciously.


Although I am not a big fan of dedicating just one day to thank my folks. Instead, I feel that as children, we can celebrate this event every day not necessarily by wishing them just for today and introducing them to our social family/ fanbase, but by helping them around the house, talking to them for at least fifteen minutes in the day, asking them about their childhood and the most important of them all is to teach them a bit about modern technology that surrounds all of us. They should not feel like a postman in an instant messaging world.

The Mumbai Floods of 2005

The above image is not taken from a water sport game involving buses. It’s in fact taken from the streets of our very own Mumbai city fifteen years back when heavy rainfall led to floods. This happened exactly on 26 th Jul, 2005 and today being an unfortunate anniversary of that dreaded day, let’s take a trip down memory lane.
